Default Brand Exclusive Pay Per Views or Joint Productions?

From 2003 to 2007 the WWE hosted four joint production ppvs a year which featured Raw and Smackdown! The other shows were brand exclusive. Starting with Backlash 2007, all the ppvs returned to their original format, being joint productions. Personally, I liked the idea of having brand exclusive ppvs, because it was something special for a Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series to have two shows on one card, and I think going back to the joint production format could be harmful for the four big ppvs, because it takes away the specialty of having two shows share one card. I know the WWE did this because buys were down. Share with me your thoughts.

I prefere joint produstion PPVs, only because I felt the brand exclusive PPV's were getting abit bland, theres only so much you can do with half the roster, I know what your saying about making the 4 big PPV's special and all, but to me they just need to amp up the card for the big 4, to incrase buy rates

I like brand-exclusive myself, otherwise the only PPV that stands out is WM or and the Royal Rumble. I'm glad they're doing brand-exclusive again. They are, aren't they?

i like brand exclusive myself as well but i see why they went back to joint for financial reasons and lack of talent..or lack of talent they are producing.... or want to produce.. when it started it was a smart idea from 03-05... then when smackdown lost ALL their talent for the most part it was time to kill it.... if they can promote more talent and get them out there for us to care long enough they MIGHT do it again... it would also bring some substance back to the other championships.... but until then..................

I prefer the joint brand shows, as the quality is always up there near the decent mark.

But it can devalue the big four shows over time.

One thing I do like what WWE have done since bringing back all the joint shows is having One Night Stand and Night Of Champions, this makes them different from say Judgment Day and The Great American Bash, maybe bringing in a couple more of gimmick shows could work.

In terms of not giving certain guys a place on the card, that is vaild and a probelm. An issue, I have especially with No Mercy was the lack of Punk, now surely a tag match whether it be title or non-title with him and a partner (say Kofi) verses Priceless could of worked.

Joint shows will stay though as they seem to be performing okay at the minute, not great but then again December to Dismember and No Mercy 2004 really did well in the buyrate stakes did they and the good 'single' brand shows for instance Vengeance 2006 performed well but that was helped by the presence of ECW talent.

Brand Exclusiveness is the way to go , because there are too many wrestlers trying tp get over and with only a 3hour PPV that makes for a rushed night, but when it is/was Vengance (RAW's) PPV, you could see the difference in timing.

Agreed, with more talent able to get into the PPV enviornment there is more varitey in what the show can be potentially. Nowadays, I would hate to be a mid carder that is appearing on PPVs less and less compared to when it was single brand shows for the money factor

also with the brand exclusives.. it makes u care about the superstars and see their craft... that helped many superstars now when that started... such as cena, mysterio jamie noble edge(despite being in wwe for so long) in fact the whole cruiserweight division, the women's division... id prefer it because it makes them be somewhat more creative or at least try to

ill give join productions this... its was enjoyable(when it was going on) to see ppvs from overseas(which they basically dont do anymore... anyone remember rock vs hhh vs lesnar)
